I don't know if it was my generation of mouse or all of them, but mine DEFINITELY had screws holding the original plate in place. I had to disassemble the mouse completely to remove the plate. While I do enjoy the new plate, the above video was total fiction.
With the new back cover it fits my hand perfectly now
It definitely feels a bit more comfy for my large hand. It took a little to get used to because the extra weight threw me off at first. So I think the move for me is to swap back to the original back cover when I want the mouse to feel lighter for games or whatnot, and then use the new back cover for everything else out of comfort :)
